We make all our own carcasses, doors and drawers. As well as being better built than mass-market carcasses, ours are not made in modules of 500mm or 600mm wide: we build to whatever the design of the particular kitchen dictates. We build our carcasses generally from melamine-faced mdf, which is much stronger than chipboard. The finish is often white or a light Maple appearance. Melamine is probably the easiest-to-wipe finish there is.
As for drawers, our in-house style is to make them out of maple veneered mdf with solid maple lippings. But sometimes a customer will have a preference for solid wood drawers with dovetails or some other construction or material. We normally use top-of-the range Blumotion drawer runners which, as well as being concealed, close with a soft, braked action.
